Day One... But Actually Days 1-17: My 75 Hard Journey So Far
Okay, confession time: this isn’t technically Day One. We’re actually 17 days in, but “Day 1-17” doesn’t exactly have the same dramatic flair, right? 😅 So here we are—nearly three weeks into 75 Hard—and let me tell you, it’s been a whirlwind. I started this challenge to shake things up and prove to myself that I could stick to something this intense. Two workouts a day (one outside!), a gallon of water, clean eating, reading 10 pages, and those daily progress pics—it’s a lot. But honestly? I’m thriving.
The first few days were rough—I mean, getting up early to work out in the freezing weather isn’t exactly my vibe. But somewhere around Day 5, I realized I was starting to love the structure. My energy is up, my skin’s glowing (hello, hydration!), and I feel more confident in my ability to show up for me. Sure, I’ve had moments where I wanted to crawl back under the covers, but every time I push through, it’s like a little win.
Seventeen days in, I’ve already learned a lot about myself (I know, I know, cliche). Here are three key lessons that have stood out:
Discipline Beats Motivation: Some days, I wake up excited to tackle the challenge. Other days, I’d rather do anything but. What keeps me going is knowing that discipline isn’t about how I feel—it’s about doing it anyway.
Small Wins Build Big Confidence: Completing each task—whether it’s a freezing outdoor workout or finishing my last sip of water—reminds me that I’m capable of following through. Those little victories feel huge at the end of the day.
The Hardest Part is Starting: Once I’ve started a workout or opened my book to read those 10 pages, the rest flows. Pushing past the initial resistance is always worth it.
This isn’t just a physical challenge—it’s a mental glow-up. If the next 58 days feel anything like these past 17, I know I’m going to come out of this stronger, more focused, and ready to take on whatever life throws at me. Cheers to sticking with it, even when it’s tough—and to celebrating every step along the way. 💪🏾✨
I also finished my first book: atomic habits!
